As Jar of Marbles II nears completion, I look back and feel proud of what we’ve done with it. We have adopted one of the most famous stories in the world as our theme, Journey to the West.
Journey to the West tells the story of a monk named Xuanzang who travelled from China to India in the 6th century. The true story of Xuanzang’s journey took 17 years to complete.
In the 16th Century, Wu Cheng’en adopted this story and wrote an epic novel thousands of pages long and spanning 100 chapters in which the monk Xuanzang meets fantastic characters and overcomes incredible obstacles on his Journey. The most famous of these characters is the Monkey King, who has had inspired many more stories over the centuries and the story Journey to the West has largely become synonymous with The Legend of the Monkey King.
In Jar of Marbles II: Journey to the West, you play the monk traveling in search of the sacred scrolls in the west. Along the way you will meet The Monkey King, Piglet, the Dragon Prince and Sandy the Monk. Can you solve the puzzles and find the scrolls?
